Clement A. Okia (MSc)
Acting National Coordinator
Clement is a Ugandan with a professional background in forestry and agroforestry and has vast experience in teaching/training and research for development. He attained both Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Forestry at Makerere University, Kampala and currently pursuing PhD (Agroforestry) at Bangor University, UK. His PhD research focuses on integration of potential indigenous trees in dryland farming systems http://www.bangor.ac.uk/~afs032/Fruittrees.html. Before becoming the Acting National Coordinator for UGADEN, Clement was the Agroforestry Development Facilitator where he oversaw the scaling up of agroforestry throughout Uganda’s twelve agro-ecological zones under a collaborative arrangement between the Forestry Resources Research Institute and the World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) with support from various partners. He also works as a Lecturer (Agroforestry) in the Department of Community Forestry and Extension, Makerere University, Kampala. Prior to this, Clement worked as a lecturer and manager for agroforestry demonstration farm in Nyabyeya Forestry College, Uganda and held a position of a researcher with the Budongo Forest Project in Masindi, Uganda. Clement has a wide experience in resource mobilization, managing research and development projects as well as multi-disciplinary consultancy assignments.

Dr. Johnson Nkuuhe
Dr. Johnson Nkuuhe is the MDG Support Advisor and National Coordinator of the Millennium Villages Project (MVP) in Uganda. Prior to this, he was a member of Uganda’s parliament, and also participated as a member of the Hunger Task Force, one of 10 task forces that produced a report that led to the MVP. He has a PhD in Veterinary Physiology and Endocrinology and has spent 15 years in academia in Canada, Zimbabwe and Uganda. Johnson has special interests in development issues and information technologies. He has been the chairperson of UGADEN since 2002.

Dr. John Okorio
John Okorio is the Regional Operations Manager (East and Southern Africa) for the UN Millennium Villages Project (MVP) based at the MDG Centre in Nairobi. He is responsible for overseeing the implementation of MVP in eight sites in the ESA region. Prior to this, John was the Team Leader and Cluster Manager for Ruhiira UN Millennium Villages Project in Uganda. In this position, he oversaw the technical and financial implementation of the Ruhiira Millennium Villages project in Isingiro District, western Uganda. John was also a Principal Research Scientist and Agroforestry Team Leader with the National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO) in Uganda. At the same time, he served as the UGADEN National Coordinator. His professional background is forestry and agroforestry, and he has vast experience in research for development in agriculture and forestry, covering areas such as sustainable development, natural resource management, and livelihoods. He also has experience in managing projects comprising multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary teams of specialists. In addition, he has carried out consultancies with FAO, DFID, RELMA-SIDA and Africare International relating to food security, natural resource management and agroforestry. John holds PhD (Agroforestry) from University of Reading, UK.

Jacob is a lecturer & distinguished scholar with a First Class BSc degree in Forestry and an MSc in Forestry. He is currently perusing his PhD (Applied Ethnobotany & Food Security) in Bangor University, UK. Jacob has coordinated & participated in training as well as development of training modules in Appropriate Agroforestry Interventions for decentralized district structures in Uganda. He is highly experienced in coordinating and managing multi-disciplinary donor-funded projects. He has strong skills in research, information analysis and documentation. Jacob has offered consultancy services to several national and international organisations, including; FAO, UNDP/GEF, DFID/NARO, Global Forest Information Service and CTA.
